Hey guys! What’s up with y’all?

Your Friday is going to get a whole lot better, brighter and colourful. The traditional Haldi ceremony that we are about to share is absolutely gorgeous and we are sure you would get your weekend’s worth of gorgeousness from it. The event was beautifully captured by one of our fave photographers, Ruben from Magic Motion Media.

The Decor

The decor needs special mention. They chose their family home as the venue and we instantly fell in love with their garden swing decorated with flamboyant yellow marigold garlands. The color palette for the decor, flowers and outfits was ‘Yellow’. Oh! There were all shades of yellow! It looked like Indian Spring, in all its glory, decided to visit their home in full force. Simply stunning!!

So without further ado, let’s ease into the weekend with some lovely pictures and heart-warming memories which are sure to bring a smile to your face –

From the bride Dalia…”My Haldi was held at our home amidst the people I love the most. I chose yellow for the special day and the shades that I got to see were just incredible – gold, mustard, lemon, marigold, canary, sunny, buttercup. You name it – it was there. Ah, it was lovely.

We (the younger lot) decided pretty early on that we would play Holi immediately after the traditional ceremony. We tried to book a place with huge open space for the occasion, but couldn’t find any at such a short notice. So we decided to do it at our premises. But what we hadn’t anticipated was the seriousness with which it would be played. All my cousins and friends went berserk and were running amok. It looked like it was ‘raining colours’. The photography team had to duck and hide to avoid the color shots. But they did a wonderful job of capturing the whole event beautifully. It was absolute fun! My dad had to paint the exterior walls of the house and compound wall again!

Oh, and by the way, I couldn’t get the colour out of my hair or skin the next day. We tried everything from traditional Ubtan (bath powder) to strong soap. But nothing worked and I panicked as wedding was just a week away. So I had to go in for professional help and blew a lot of money for the treatment.

Psst…No, I didn’t get a good shouting from my parents. Why? They enjoyed the impromptu Holi themselves! Ha Ha 🙂

Here is their beautiful Haldi video that went viral with over 1.5 M views –

Happy Holi!!!
