Netted Poola Jada – Hairstyle For The Minimalist Bride (With DIY Instructions)

By TGB Desk / On December 5th, 2017

Well, hello there!

In case you haven’t already noticed, we at TGB HQ, have a major fashion moment every time we come across a Poola Jada (braid adorned with flowers) pic. There is something about this beautiful accessory that lends whimsical glamour to the wedding day look of the bride. Oh, and not to mention, it feels festive and royal when you team it up with luxe Kanjeevaram (or Pochampalli). The other day, we received a query from a bride-to-be to know if there is any light-weight poola jada that she can wear for her upcoming wedding. She was a little worried that the traditional Jadai might weigh her down by the time all the rituals come to an end. That sent us into a frenzy to zero in on a poola jada that isn’t heavy for ‘lets keep things simple’ kind of a bride. Lucky for us, we found what we were looking for – netted poola jada by the super talented Pelli Poola Jada. When we showed her the pics of the hairstyle, she was so happy, she was grinning from ear to ear. And we were happy, too, as we had so many pics of the beautiful hairdo to be featured on our blog. And so, we just did that!

Materials Required

– Floral Net (looks good when interspersed with small Lakshmi Kaasu coins)
– Three Vaenis (gajra)
– Few Jada Billai (Brooch shaped ornaments)
– Parandhe (Jada Kunjalam / gantalu)
– Bobby Pins (Lots of them)
– Hair Extensions (Depending on the length of your hair)

Step 1

Begin by braiding your hair into a long single braid hanging down your back. Now, don’t forget to include hair extensions (if required) and Jada kunjalam / gantalu.

Psst….Please dress up before you start working on your hair. Else, you might end up messing it. And we know, you don’t want that to happen.
Step 2

Place the floral net on the braid and secure it tightly with the twines provided with the net.
Step 3

Once the floral net is properly arranged, place the vaeni(s) at the top of the braid and secure it with the bobby pins.
Step 4

And once you have secured the Vaeni(s), place the jada billai over the Vaeni and secure it with bobby pins.

Note: You can have multiple Vaenis and no Jada billai. It looks equally cool. So totally your call!

Here is a DIY Video by Pelli Poola Jada that will make things a tad bit more easier for you guys….

Viola! You are all set for the event!! Pretty easy, right?!!

Doesn’t it look like the elaborate hairdo of the princess of horizon? We are sure she would adorn her lovely dark tresses with strings of dazzling stars. Are we sounding too poetic? But we warned you at the beginning, didn’t we?! ๐Ÿ™‚

Stay Happy!!!
