Classic South Indian Muhurtham Look – An Enchanting Styled Shoot

By TGB Desk / On September 14th, 2017

Happy Thursday Ladies,

The other day we were going through some stats and one team member remarked that the styled shoots have been steadily climbing up the popularity charts. But that’s expected! These styled shoots provide the required inspiration for brides who are about to tie the knot soon. We do agree that most of the brides these days know exactly what they want. But they are in constant look out for new looks. And this continues up until the morning of the wedding. Okay, there might be a little exaggeration there, but the fact remains that the brides are ready to experiment and embrace any new look with open arms. And this is where the styled shoots come into the picture. When talented wedding vendors team up and execute a well styled shoot with attention to detail, it’s a feast to the sore eyes. Here is one such styled shoot.

We are completely thrilled to be able to share this beautiful styled shoot today. It was executed by a team of young and talented wedding professionals who wanted to create a classic South Indian muhurtam look.

Here is what the bridal makeup artist Anitha of Anitha Sridhar Makeup had to say about it –

“Team – From the very start we were very determined that we wanted to create a South Indian muhurtam look with a twist. Initially, it was just the three of us – the photographer, Adithi and me. We started working on the shoot and that’s when Tvameva Jewelry and Palam Silks joined us. We had hired a model well in advance, but at the last moment she backed off due to a personal emergency. We almost went into the panic mode and that’s when one of my friends came forward to our rescue. She agreed to be our model and so we continued with our original plan. A friend in need, indeed!

Location – We chose Arupadai Veedu Murugan Temple at Besant Nagar, Chennai for the shoot. The moment we started shooting, people gathered in huge numbers. Never thought we would have such spectacular audience! A few kids thought we were shooting for a movie and tried to photo bomb. It was fun! On a serious note, we feel the temple in the background added character to the whole shoot.

Attire – Usually, brides opt for a blouse that’s in the same colour as that of the saree for muhurtam. So we opted for a contrast blouse that has been beautifully designed by Adithi of Adiva. She has embellished the blouse with motifs that were adapted from the saree as well as jewelry patterns. The Kanjeevaram saree and jewellery is by Palam Silks and Tvameva respectively.

Makeup & Hairstyle – It’s very common for the south Indian brides to style their hair in a jadai (bridal braid) adorned with flowers and hair accessories. So we went for fuss free hair bun with a flower vaeni (gajra) and a juda pin. We think this hairstyle would be a beautiful alternative to the traditional Kalyana jadai. Trust us, it takes the weight off your shoulders on your big day and the beauty of the hairstyle remains intact even after endless rituals and after parties. And what’s more, it doesn’t come in the way during the maalai maatral or vara mala ceremony. Just give it a try!

Photography – This shoot was perfectly captured by Weddings By WFA. It was a pleasure working with their team.

We sincerely hope the brides find this helpful!”

Stay Happy!!!
